Joey Ali

Joey Ali

Founder of Proali Goalie Training and Co-owner of Pro-Formance Goalie Schools; he’s worked alongside NHL goalie coaches & worked with AHL & NHL goalies. His insight is brought forth from years of playing experience; Junior B, Junior A & College (NCAA). He received his scholarship after winning a national title at the Junior A level. He received student awards for academics while studying business and marketing and athletic awards for his play on the ice during his years at college. Joey is the goalie consultant to the Coquitlam Express and NCAA institutions. Joey uses technology as a teaching and training tool and his success is a result of the no cookie cutter approach he takes with each and every goalie he trains.

Working alongside youth hockey programs (Scarborough Bruins, Toronto Aces, Middlebury Tigers youth hockey) throughout his career, Liam provides a knowledgable and positive coaching experience. By focusing on the fundamentals of goaltending, Liam gives goalies the foundation and skills required to excel at and build their own style of play.

Program Prerequisites
  • Minimum 2 years of goalie playing experience required
Program Aim
  • Improve basic skills: skating, proper stance and save techniques, angles, balance, stickhandling, etc
  • Introduction to advanced skills: puck tracking and awareness, rebound control, passing
  • Have fun and develop passion for ice hockey

All goalies are required to supply their own goaltending equipment. Standard goaltending equipment (chest protector, glove, blocker, stick, pants, pads, and helmet) must be worn.


Low Player to Instructor Ratio (4:1)

Personal Instruction
Instruction will be undertaken by senior CIHL coaches and coaches from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) and Junior Hockey players interning in Hong Kong

  • Junior Tigers programs are designed to work in conjunction with other leagues and programs. Our goal is to provide options for players of every age and skill level and we take the approach that more hockey means more fun!
  • There are no restrictions on participant’s passport or country of origin and all are welcome to enjoy the various programs.

Special Note:

Junior Tigers management reserves the right to change program curriculum if the minimum number of participants is not reached. Participants who have signed up and paid for a program curriculum that is changed due to above-mentioned reason, will be given the option of switching programs or receiving a full refund if the program is no longer available.

  3. Registration will be done on a first come, first serve basis, with priority given to previous Junior Tigers participants.
